TVOut: iPhone/iPod Touch Application output to your TV

The application TVOut has shown up in Cydia for Jailbroken iPhones and iPod Touch devices, and offers promising results. However, a quick test of the appliction shows it is rather useless without Landscape mode support (for games). The developer has stated that it is a work in progress, and that Landscape mode in on the ToDo list. Until then, I'll wait.

This application of course will only work if you have an AV cable for your device.

Apple Keynote Remote: Appstore

It may already be available in the US Appstore at the time of this post, but it is NOT in the Canadian store yet.

Apple's Keynote Remote will allow you to view the current and next slide, as well as notes, all from the iPhone/iPod Touch screen. I do a lot of presenting at work, and I'm very excited for this application. It is (will be) $0.99 in the iTunes Appstore.

Gameloft: Best iPhone Game Developer

I really wanted a Sony PSP at one point and now I'm glad that I held off.  The people at Gameloft have truly brought iPhone games to a whole new level, and they have satisfied my want of a PSP for much less $$.  Gameloft has created some highly rated, and highly graphical iPhone games.  Such names as Brothers in ArmsBrain ChallengeAsphalt 4 Racing, and Hero Sparta.  Although they've made some not-so-good games that have received some bad reviews; Diamond Twister, CSI Miami

I recently downloaded Asphalt 4 Racing, and Hero Sparta.  The gaming controls are intuitive for both games.  Very intuitive for Hero of Sparta as the bottom left corner operates as a very responsive "joy stick" for movement through the game.  There are weapons combos and "finishing moves", multiple levels, and when you beat the game you can repeat it with all of the weapons you obtained the first time through.

Asphalt 4 racing takes the prize for racing games when it comes to controls as it give you 3 different ways to control your vehicle:  touch (my preference; tap the side of the screen you which to steer to), accelerometer (tilt and turn your iPhone/iPod touch), or a steering wheel in the bottom left corner to control with your thumb.  The game has multiple levels and types of races you unlock as you win races, and you can customize your car, and purchase new ones with all the money you win!!  These two games have given me absolute confidence in Gameloft as a developer, and I will not hesitate on purchasing any game they develop that strikes an interest.
