Doppler: Google Reader iPhone application
I should've spent some more time with the updated "Feeds" application before speaking of it's greatness. It's integration of Google Reader is not very good at all. It is much better at handling feeds on it's own. Unfortunetly, I value the ability of syncing my RSS feeds so that I'm not sifting through feeds on my desktop that I've already read.
Tonight I downloaded Doppler. It's a $0.99 application in the Appstore that does one thing, does it very well, and very fast. It is an RSS reader that syncs it's content exclusively with your Google Reader account.
Doppler allows you to sync online and read offline if you would like, and only syncs when you mannually refresh. If you have you unlimited data this wouldn't matter, but some countries (Canada) have limited data plans (although my 6GB plan can handle it I'm sure). There are a few tweaks to the UI that can be done like viewing unread only, view as a "river" of feeds (instead of presenting you with the feed source and an unread count beside it) you can can also pick and choose the feeds you want doppler to sync with Google Reader. Although it is only $0.99 there is Doppler Lite which is free to try, you can select only 5 feeds to sync and it is supported by ads. I tried the free version and instantly purchased the full version.
