iStudio Publisher screenshots for the Mac ReviewCast

You find their website here: iStudio Publisher

These are screenshots of the application iStudio Publisher from C:Four, also two of the things I created using it.  Full review of this product is on episode #238 of the Mac ReviewCast.

One of the most valuable tools is the Multiline Tool which could not be captured with my screen capturing tools because it's a HUD.  It has some limitations but most are part of their development roadmap scheduled for the next minor release (1.2).  Take a listen to the Mac ReviewCast for more details.

It should be mentioned that learning how to GTD with Omnifocus requires that you get nothing done for an undetermined length of time.

USB is a flirty bi-sexual prude, it appears to be down for whatever & then you approach it the wrong way & its all "that don't go in there"

The Canadian Tweetup

I really do have over an hour of audio content from my first tweetup with Lola Wong. In about two weeks I should have the time to sit through and edit it all. It really is just some serious nerding out over iPhone applications, and it's so long I'll need to break it up into parts. We should however do a proper Skyler call with a good recording atmosphere. Tim Hortons has just little too much background noise, ha!

How to use a MobileMe alias on the iPhone

This really isn't ideal, but it's an option and it works. All you have to do is remember to change your outgoing mail account to your alias when replying to or composing a message (in the compose window tap on your email address to reveal other accounts).

Heres how to set it up:

Set up MobileMe as you normally would. Then add another email account, choose "Other" account. Type in your name and your alias email address. On the next screen chose IMAP and put in your MobileMe account info (you have to in order to proceed to the SMTP info).

mail.me.com
username
password

Next fill in your SMTP info (it might do it automatically for you).

smtp.me.com
username
password

Once it is setup you can now go back and delete your incoming mail settings (imap). If you don't you will have a duplicated mail badge count.

If your inbox keeps appearing empty (messages don't load) after doing this, restart your iPhone. I'm not sure why it did it to me, but a restart fixed it for good.

MobileMe And The Lack Of Alias Support On The iPhone

Like many of you out there I created a MobileMe account with a username I've had for a long time. When the iPhone came out, followed by push notifications I was excited to benefit from the seamless integration. What I wasn't aware of was that the iPhone mail application was not going to support aliases, which I had set up to use with more professional emails. This lead me to create a Gmail account suitable for replying to work related emails and leaving MobileMe behind. The worst part of is that if I want to let my account expire, I can not use any of my created aliases as a new account name. Once you create an alias it can NEVER be used as a main account. Ever!

So here I am. Keep MobileMe or let it fade away.
